SE Queensland Hang Gliding - Introductory Course Information
If you are not sure hang gliding is for you, you can try a tandem hang gliding instructional flight, or our introductory course, or both before committing to a full licenced course.
The introductory course runs over 2 days and will commence with your first days on flat ground or on small training hills, where you will learn basic techniques used to control the hang glider.
We will cover important theory associated with flying a hang glider and gain a basic understanding of the weather.
You will continue with repetition on the training hills where you may experience ground skimming solo glides.
At this stage you will know if hang gliding is the sport for you and you can either continue on and complete the full licence course or you can leave with a basic understanding of what it is like to fly a hang glider.
The Introductory course includes -
- 2 days on training hill with instructor (assisted to unassisted flights)
- Transport to training hills from Canungra
- Use of all equipment (hang glider, harnesses UHF radios etc.)
- Theory lessons
- Short term HGFA membership
- Pilot Training Workbook
After you have completed your 2 day introductory course it is advisable to continue your training soon after so that you can refine and improve on the skills you have just learnt. We have structured the full licence course so that it runs directly after your first 2 days training. And your Introductory Course price will be deducted from your full licence course*
Cost - $500 incl gst
